It is worn for 15 days on the back of the upper arm and communicates real-time data minute-to-minute continuously with a phone app via Bluetooth. Glucose levels are displayed as numeric values as well as trends in the app. The device offers optional real-time alarms for low glucose, high glucose, and signal loss. The FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor, when paired with the Tandem t:slim X2 insulin pump, can create an automated insulin delivery system (AID) that predicts and helps prevent highs and lows.
