Every day Bellevue Healthcare Delivery Technicians are on the front lines delivering necessary medical equipment to our customers. Many of our customers are seniors or individuals in vulnerable health circumstances. To protect our customers, team, and community, we are requiring our Delivery Technicians, to wear masks, gloves, and take preventative measures before, during, and after any customer interaction.
These protective steps are imperative during this complex time. And like many in the healthcare industry, we are facing a shortage of masks and months long back-orders for masks for our team to use.
Currently, we have a very small supply of masks remaining. Given our volume of deliverers, we will run out of masks soon. But we hoping to prevent that situation by asking for help from our community.
Can You Sew? Here’s How You Can Help
We are trying to source 500 masks for our team to help them continue to safely serve our customers and community.
If you can sew or know someone willing to lend their skills to making masks, here is a fairly simple tutorial on how to make them.
Note: Elastic is on short supply – just like toilet paper! One alternative is to use long, thin pieces of the cotton fabric (sewed) to tie instead (2 top, 2 bottom – where the elastic would be connected). Our technicians would then just tie top and bottom to secure it safely and in place.
