- How Lumin Works
Lumin operates by emitting high-energy light within a narrow UV-C spectrum. The system utilizes a low-pressure germicidal lamp designed to generate UV-C energy around 254nm, a wavelength commonly used in UV sanitization applications.
During the 5-minute cycle, UV-C light is directed onto exposed surfaces inside the chamber. UV-C sanitization is chemical-free, leaves no residue, and does not require additional cleaning agents. Similar UV-C technologies are used in healthcare facilities, transportation vehicles, laboratories, and other high-touch environments.
Because UV-C light works through direct exposure, only surfaces within the light’s line of sight receive treatment. Objects with multiple sides or complex shapes may be repositioned and treated in an additional cycle if desired.
How to Use
- Remove any visible dirt, dust, or residue from the item before sanitizing.
- Place the item inside the drawer with the surface to be sanitized facing upward.
- Close the drawer completely.
- Press the button to begin the 5-minute sanitizing cycle.
- Once the cycle is complete, remove the item and use as desired.
For larger or multi-sided items, an additional cycle may be performed after repositioning the item to expose additional surfaces to the UV-C light.
